Specialist Dyslexia Tuition

Supporting dyslexic learners and students with literacy difficulties.

I am a qualified, specialist teacher with extensive experience in teaching individuals with dyslexia.

Working closely with parents and the diagnostic report recommendations, I provide targeted support tailored to the unique needs of each student.

Whether focusing on exam techniques, study skills, or enhancing literacy proficiency, my goal is to foster confidence, independence and self-esteem in every student.

Key areas of focus

Each tutoring session is personalised to your child’s needs but will typically focus on a Structured Literacy approach. This method involves the systematic, explicit teaching of literacy skills and includes support in the following key components:

  • Phonological Awareness

  • Phonics

  • Reading Fluency

  • Vocabulary

  • Comprehension Skills

  • Spelling

  • Handwriting development

Personalised approach and techniques

Using multi-sensory teaching techniques, I help students to develop strategies and techniques to overcome their specific difficulties. These techniques focus on developing the brain’s neural pathways, particularly in activating the left posterior and temporal areas to help improve the ability to reorganise information. I also integrate metacognitive strategies and promote a growth mindset to empower students.

This multi-sensory, cumulative targeted support builds confidence and lays a positive foundation for all future learning.

Comprehensive Support Across Key Stages

I offer specialist tutoring for dyslexic students in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3. Sessions are flexible, conducted either from their home, privately at school, or from my consulting room in North London.

Sessions typically last 45 minutes for younger pupils and 60 minutes for older students.
