Welcome to Beyond Barriers
Qualified dyslexia assessor and specialist teacher in North London.
With 15 years of experience as a school teacher in both primary and secondary school settings, I have worked extensively with both diagnosed and undiagnosed dyslexic pupils, including dyslexics with co-occurring SpLDs. This work has ignited my passion for supporting neurodiverse students and to truly listen to their struggles in mainstream education.
I am passionate about dyslexia and working with students to raise their self-esteem and mental well-being, providing positive learning experiences with the best possible outcomes.

How I can offer support
Dyslexia
Assessments
As a fully certified qualified dyslexia assessor, I can assess for and enable a diagnosis of dyslexia, which is a specific learning difficulty (SpLD), helping you to understand your child’s strengths and challenges so you can best support them.
Specialist Teaching
I offer multi-sensory tutoring sessions, privately or at school, tailored to your child’s individual needs and designed to enhance each student's learning experience.
Exams Access Arrangements
I work with school SENCOs to conduct private and in-school Examination Access Arrangement (EAA) Assessments, evaluating the need for extra time or other exam concessions at GCSE and A-Level.
“By offering practical recommendations, or specialist teaching, I empower parents and educators to create supportive learning environments where neurodiverse students can thrive.”
What is neurodiversity?
This video from the British Dyslexia Association gives an overview about the term neurodiversity.
